Mark T. Shawe

Mr. Shawe was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 3, 1955, and he is married to Savannah native, Ellen Ragan Shawe. Mr. Shawe is a graduate of Benedictine Military School, and received both his BBA in Finance, Cum Laude (1977) and Law Degree (1980) from the University of Georgia. Mark is an avid boater and golfer, and Mark and his wife, Ellen, enjoy travel, cooking, boating and kayaking. They are members of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

Within the Savannah community, Mr. Shawe is active in civic and charitable organizations. Mr. Shawe is currently serving his 5th year as Board Chairman of Benedictine Military School, having previously served 2 years as Finance Chair. Mr. Shawe further supports and serves on the Board of the United Way of the Coastal Empire. Mark is also an active member in The Savannah Quarterback Club.

Mr. Shawe served 11 years, including as Board Chairman, on the Board of Stewards of The Savannah Yacht Club. He is a past President of the Civitan Club of Savannah, a past graduate of Savannah’s Leadership Savannah Program, and a past member of Savannah Jaycees. Mr. Shawe is past Chairman of Savannah’s Leukemia/Lymphoma fundraising Regatta and served 4 additional years on its Executive Committee.

Mr. Shawe is licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. He practices law in the areas of residential and commercial real estate and closings. He further practices in the areas of general business, transactional law, and corporate law and entity formations. He further assists many clients in estate planning and probate work. Mr. Shawe has also developed a specialty in condominium formations and conversions.

Mr. Shawe has received for 15 consecutive years his “AV Preeminent” rating, the highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards. For years 2018, 2019 and 2020, he has been selected by peers for inclusion in Martindale Hubbell’s “Best Lawyers” publication in the field of Real Property Law. Mr. Shawe has been further listed for recognition in the publications, “Georgia’s Top Lawyers” and “Top Lawyers” in Savannah Magazine, as further result of peer review ratings.

Mr. Shawe is a member of the Savannah Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia.
