William W. Shearouse Jr.
William W. Shearouse Jr. was born on January 13, 1948 and is a native of Savannah. He and his wife, Rhonda are both communicants of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Mr. Shearouse has been educated at Benedictine Military School and the University of Georgia, where he was awarded a degree in Political Science. He also attended the University of Georgia Law School, where he was awarded a Juris Doctor in Law. As an undergraduate, he served as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Government, and, while at law school, he was a member of the Prosecutorial Clinic.
Active in numerous professional and community organizations, Mr. Shearouse currently serves as a member of Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of Greater Savannah. As a member of the Board of Directors of Benedictine Military School, he serves on the Capital Campaign Steering Committee, the Investment Committee and the Development Committee. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Synovus Bank and is a past President of the Hibernian Society of Savannah and the Hibernian Society Foundation and Past Captain of the Savannah Quarterback Club.
Mr. Shearouse is licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia. He practices law in the areas of commercial and residential real estate transactions, land development, general business, and municipal law. He also serves as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Savannah, and has served as Judge Pro-Tem of the Savannah-Chatham County Recorder’s Court.
Mr. Shearouse has been listed in the publications The Best Lawyers in America, Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite, Georgia Super Lawyers and Irish America’s “The Legal 100.” He has also earned an “AV” rating from Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. The “AV” rating is the highest available.
